We've got plenty of hardware, buildings. We need the "software and services" ramped up by a factor of 10. The people stuff. Not more buildings.
II heard of another Street kin drinking themselves to death the other night. That's three in the last 2 months.
Why? Because we haven't stepped up to competing. When McDonald's is losing customers to some other chain, they don't ignore it, they embrace the need. They figure out how to compete better. We have got to figure out how to compete against drugs and alcohol and hanging out. It can be done. It is being done. We do it in our own lives. We can do this.
Maybe there's a reason that the property I was looking to purchase was taken off the market yesterday morning before my appointment to tour it at 1:30 yesterday afternoon.

Tawi Kaan has an unused Lobby for the day Center that's needed for people that are trying to recover actively from substance abuse. There are other suitable spaces for a day Center for those in active recovery.
We need more case managers, probably five, that care about people on the streets more than they care about their jobs. Maybe the funds you have can go to pinion project for that. Or to church in Nazarene toward that.

We have outdoor spaces in Cortez that are vacant. Huge real estate outside the Methodist church. Church of the Nazarene has a big parking lot. The Courtyard at Pinon project. Lots of grass around the police station. Etc, etc etc. Can't your funds james, be better utilized to fund the security camera, bright light, supervision, porta-john, insurance, etc?
Heck james, you would be the Staffing for a dollar a night. You know several other extremely responsible people on the street that would do the same. Breathalyzer kits are cheap. Drug testing kits are cheap.
Yes, james, if no one replies, if no one responds, if no one is interested, you're going to have to sink the money in a building. That's freaking stupid, james. Try to get a reply james.
And you know what james. If Cortez lets this money go toward just building another property, it's because they just want to kick the can down the road. Don't go that route easily james.
PS. Yes james, we need a scoreboard. But it's impossible what we need to do james, we don't want to scoreboard anymore than we want to look at the scale when we're overweight. Right. But when we get serious we make sure there's a scale we can get on to see how we're doing.
Pps. There is more joy per hour available to us all, that we're leaving on the streets, than is experienced in Cortez any single day. This is stupid. We can do this.
Pps. Did I forget to mention, we don't need more property in Cortez? We don't need to think more money into property in cortez?
ppps. And if like me, you imagine your Creator, by whatever name, or
none, if you notice what Satan is causing by crucifying Iran, well, we don't
have many moments left to get right with the Lord. And maybe like me, you also find trying to
be pleasing to the Lord, infinitely joyful, as badly as I do it, as
foolishly as I do.
